Who could say no to a challenge? Better yet, who could say no to Jay-Z, a fellow Brooklynite who happened to be the face of the company? I wanted to design an experience emphasizing discovery, personalization, and cohesive visual content in a functional yet innovative design for the streaming space. I redefined what it is like to subscribe to the “Best Music Streaming Service.”

Personalization
I focused on audience engagement through personalized, curated playlists. I developed a system of elements based on easily recognizable swipe motion.
Due to the platform’s various media types and categories, I wanted to bring consistency and clarity to the experience by using artist-driven thinking. An example is the new “My Vibes” feature, which allows users to choose a mood-based station with hand-picked songs within each category.

We introduced a flow for our connected guests to access our new revamp access key. Creating a hub of current and upcoming trips, you can now see suggested activities nearby. Loyalty is now a mindset, not just a section under Account.

We developed an interactive online keynote during the initial phases of COVID-19, focusing on the issues within the African-American community. This was seamlessly integrated into our primary suite of digital tools.

To improve the streaming experience, I wanted to sync the fan perspective into a one-to-one human connection by revisiting a few pain points using recognizable gestures.
Search will use a “shazaam” like feature to identify the music playing around you in addition to grouping results. You can now stay updated with artists and bands with new artist profiles, giving users access to additional content, such as tour dates. The use of lyrics has now been elevated into sharing in the feature called Mood while having the ability to be defined through Rap Genius.
